Description

This course is part of the practice-orientated teaching trajectory ‘Contextualising’ in Stream 3: Smart and Ubiquitous Cities.
Students are introduced to advanced digital urban modelling techniques to produce a digital model of a real-world site whilst further exploring semantic information modelling, 3D city representation and analysis aspects of urban models.
Course content comprises of: an introduction to a range of urban data types,GIS data, cadastre data, ABS data, building information, urban flows data. Advanced urban modelling methods used to represent all relevant parts of cities e.g. semantics, geometry, topology, appearance. CityGML provides an open standard for information sharing and semantic information modelling; integration of GIS, CityGML and BIM; 3D visualisation and analysis of urban models.
