Description

This course focuses on first phase of the detailed design and resolution of the final design project, culminating in a cohesive and comprehensive design outcome.
Projects focus on civic or cultural interiors that have agency at the scale of the city. The research phase will inform the development of the student’s brief for the project in the form of a Design Research Report and Project Brief. Using this underpinning research, students will test a series of design propositions and develop an initial design response in the form of a primary spatial move. The outcome from this studio is the design research, design brief and design proposition that will form the basis of the final design studio, Design Practice 8: Resolve.
