Description

This course gives students an applied, hands on, understanding of how the Australian political system works and how government policy making works in practice.

The course takes a case study approach where students are required to pick an issue they care about and to follow it through the political decision making process. As we introduce each element of the political system, the student can see how it works in practice through their case study. Students are also required to engage with their peers' case studies giving them a breadth of insight into the major issues on the Australian political landscape and the different political dynamics that develop around different issues.
