Plan Outline

This plan is only available to students commencing Level 1 in 2012 onwards.

The Minor in Indigenous Studies is a suite of subjects that will provide students:
  1. a deeper understanding of the knowledge systems that underpin the Indigenous people of Australia,
  2. opportunities to engage the elements that continue to override its presence, and scholarly engagements to build capacity with theories and skills for navigating
  3. the cultural interface between Indigenous and non‐Indigenous people.

Plan Structure

A student who wishes to complete the Minor in Indigenous Studies must complete 36 units of credit from ATSI coded courses including 12 uoc at Level 1, at least 12 uoc at Level 2 and at least 12 uoc at Level 3.

  • ATSI 2012 Contemporary Issues in Indigenous Politics (6 UOC)

Level 3: (Commencing in 2014 – Details to be confirmed in 2013)
  • ATSI 3xxx TBC (6 UOC)
  • ATSI 3xxx TBC (6 UOC)
  • ATSI 3008 The Cultural Interface (Capstone Course) TBC (6 UOC)
