The Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) (BCom(Co-op)) is a highly valued and unique business qualification. It provides high-achieving students with a strong, 4-year academic program, integrated with fully assessable industry placement experiences that enable students to work with some of Australia's leading employers. The degree is also flexible enough to allow students to design a program which aligns their interests and career ambitions in accounting, finance, actuarial studies, marketing or information systems with other areas of business, or to complete an Honours year within the 4 years. The BCom (Co-op) combines the requirements of the degree with 18 months of coordinated industrial experience at three different sponsoring organisations. Industrial training extends outside university semesters. A scholarship is payable from funds donated by the sponsoring organisations, and entry to the program is limited to students awarded a scholarship through the BCom(Co-op) selection procedures administered by the Co-op Program Office. Studies leading to the award of the BCom(Co-op) normally consist of 192UOC (or 32 courses) to be completed over 4 academic years.

Please note: For students intending to complete a major in Actuarial Studies, MATH1151 and MATH1251 should be completed instead of ECON1203 . Please refer to Actuarial Studies outline for further information.
Major requirement: Students complete a major (48UOC) in the disciplinary area of their Co-op scholarship. The major must contain at least 18 UOC at level 3. (Note that the 48UOC includes the first disciplinary course(s) in the Core (Compulsory or Flexible). This means that, for the majority of majors, students will complete 42UOC in specified disciplinary courses outside the core.) Students may complete another major within an approved area of study within the ASB or other Faculty (Refer to Table A) if studying under Stream A. Table A

General Education Requirements General Education requirements account for 12 UOC (2 courses) and are to be taken outside the Australian School of Business. This allows you to select either courses that were developed especially for the General Education Program (beginning with GEN) or to choose 'mainstream' courses that are offered in the degree programs of other Faculties. Please note that students enrolled in programs within the Australian School of Business cannot take General Education courses offered by the Business School. Industrial Training Experience courses account for 36 UOC. Students complete 3 industrial training experience courses within the area of their co-op scholarship, with each course worth 12 UOC. The first industrial training course in each area is:

Students interested in studying the Honours stream should refer to the relevant disciplinary Honours plan for entry requirements and content, and contact the relevant Co-op and Honour Co-ordinators.
Students may also complete Honours by undertaking an additional (5th) year after satisfying the requirements of the General stream of the pass degree. Co-op scholars completing Honours under this path will not receive the Co-op scholarship for this 5th (honours) year. Students interested in studying Honours through this path should refer to the relevant Honours plan record for entry requirements and contact the Honours Co-ordinator in the relevant School.
