Program Description


The BSc (Computer Science) BDM combined program provides both a technical and creative foundation to the development and use of computer graphics. It also allows specialisation in the final semester in either the technical or creative strand of computer graphics and associated fields.

The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Digital Media can be studied by two streams:

  • Approved SMA or CSE elective (6 UOC)
Please note that 3982 students have permission from the School of Maths to use MATH1131 or MATH1141 as a pre-req substitution for enrolment into MATH2859.

Enrolment should be possible via myUNSW without assistance. However, if you do experience any difficulties please contact the CSE Student Office.

The flexibility of the Computer Science Program allows double majors within the program.

General Education Requirements

Students in this program are exempt from General Education requirements.


Honours (Optional) COMPAH3978

Computer Science Honours takes one year full-time or two years of part-time study.

Normally, students are expected to have attained an average mark of 65 (according to NewSouth Student calculations) to qualify for entry to the Honours year. Students who do not meet this expectation may be admitted in special circumstances. Students who have graduated with a three-year computer science degree from UNSW or another university can apply for admission to Honours.
