Program Description

The Nura Gili Indigenous Preparatory Program (Pre-Program) is a four-week residential program for entry to Business, Education, Law, Medicine and Social Work for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is a program designed for Indigenous students who do not satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission to university studies. The course has been designed to assess your academic potential and to provide a realistic environment within which you can develop the knowledge and skills to manage your undergraduate studies effectively. On successful completion of the program students may be offered a place at UNSW in an enabling program or undergraduate degree.

Program Objectives and Graduate Attributes

At the end of the program, students should have acquired all of the following graduate attributes:
  1. Able to apply their knowledge and skills to solving academic tasks.
  2. Capable of effective academic communication.
  3. Capable of independent and collaborative academic enquiry.
  4. Information and digitally literate in an academic environment.
  5. Capable of independent and self-directed practice in an academic setting.

Students complete one of the following courses:

Academic Rules

  1. Students must complete a total of 12 UOC.
  2. Students must complete their program within one semester of study.

Note: Student enrolments will be Commonwealth-funded and students will not have to pay Commonwealth Support charges.
