Description

The study of Dance involves courses in dance theory, history and practice. Whilst practical work is undertaken, this is not in order that students achieve proficiency as performers, but so that they develop a critical language for the discussion and analysis of dance as a performance event and a full appreciation of the production processes.

Studying Dance at UNSW

The study of dance at UNSW is primarily through the The study of dance at UNSW is primarily through the School of Media, Film and Theatre http://media.arts.unsw.edu.au. The Bachelor of Arts (Dance) Bachelor of Education is a specialist double degree in Dance and Dance Education. Although a wide variety of dance careers is open to graduates, the primary focus of the program is to equip graduates to serve as dance teachers in schools and in the community. Honours level and postgraduate
study are also available.
