Music

Description

Develop your musicianship and explain the relationship between various musics and their historical, social, culture and technological contexts as well as participate in UNSW music ensembles.

What You'll Study

The Music Studies major examines music as a manifestation of culture and society, as an intellectual product and as a specific reflection of experience. The program has two streams: Music Studies is for students without extensive formal training in music and who wish to gain a general degree in music and explore music as part of the Humanities; while Music Studies (Intensive) is for students with a background in formal music training. You can also combine your music studies with complementary areas such as media, film and performance studies.
