Description

Experimental design explores how practitioners in design rework the status quo of discrete disciplines of art and design. Through the development of works for exhibition contexts, students challenge boundaries of practice and reflect on the place of design in relation to other fields. The course provides students with the opportunity to consider their personal and professional experiences in design, and to consider alternative models for design practice. Students examine design approaches which question and extend current parameters of practice in the design field. Students explore experimental graphic, furniture and wearable design related in scale to the human body throughout the course.
