Description

A critical examination of urban and regional design in practice with particular reference to Sydney. The emphases will be on evaluating practical designs and spaces with some project work. The course reviews principles of urban design and teaching is through “inquiry by design” whereby lectures, case studies and site visits invite engagement through design projects of varying scales and contexts. Particular skills reviewed are site analysis, spatial understanding, design responses, and control mechanisms.
