Description

Critical survey of different approaches to the language teaching curriculum with a special focus on TESOL. Themes include: the difference between methodology, syllabus, and curriculum; the relationship between views of language and principles of curriculum design, the cultural, social and institutional context of the curriculum; the role of needs analysis; content specification and organisation, managing curricular innovation; and evaluation of the curriculum.
