It is through projects that organisations give effect to strategy. The Business of Managing Projects (BoMP) seeks to establish robust conceptual foundations for the conduct of projects.

The focus of the course is on the project as a domain of investment decision-making rather than merely as a platform for the exercise of rules and procedures. A number of important tools and techniques in project management that are covered comprehensively in other courses are discussed only superficially in BoMP.

The course introduces a rigorous theoretical framework from which are drawn a suite of supporting analytical tools. These are then used to explore a number of important contemporary issues in project management across the public, private and social sectors.
