Overview

This compulsory course for PhD students aims to deliver an intensive preparation course for  postgraduate researchers in PhD programmes of UNSW Canberra i.e. students are given the opportunity to learn necessary skills early on in their candidature. A wide range of topics are covered, including research ethics, research methodologies and UNSW policies, induction to campus and school specific facilities and introduction to basic skils needed to conduct research work. In particular, the course should prepare the student for confirmation of candidature and preliminary versions of literature reviews and the reserach proposal will result from this course. More specifically, student will also acquire  IT skills such as search engines and referencing tools and training in OH&S related issues.
