This course aims to introduce students with Operations Research (OR) concepts in the aviation context. Topics include: fundamentals of OR, network models, general OR models, aviation scheduling, corporate optimisation, decision science in aviation context, fleet assignment, aircraft routing, and other relevant models. Data analytics is included to provide students with knowledge and skills on data preparation, data exploration and data modelling. Students are provided with computer programming training and tutorial sessions, and this is an essential and significant part of this course. Assessments are based on group projects so to train teamwork and communication skills in team projects.
