COMP4920

This course will develop a framework on which management and ethical issues can be developed. and also develop skills in software project management.

Topics covered will include management issues such as:

  • management of innovation
  • engineering project planning and control
  • human factors
  • patents
  • technical strategy

In addition, the following ethics topics will be covered:

  • introduction to ethics
  • workable ethical theories
  • morality of breaking the law
  • privacy
  • public information and records
  • and related topics

Students carry out a significant software development project in teams.

Conditions for Enrolment

Prerequisite: COMP2511 or COMP2911, and in the final year of the BSc Computer Science or BE / BE (Hons) Bioinformatics Engineering or Computer Engineering. Software Engineering students enrol in SENG4920.
