Plan Outline

Entry to the Physics Honours year is by invitation from of the Head of School. Usually this requires that students have maintained a credit average throughout their previous course work. Students should have completed all requirements for their Bachelor of Science; or all Stage 1-3 requirements for Advanced Science degrees. Students in combined degrees must have completed all requirements for both degrees before beginning their honours year.

For admission into Honours students must ensure that they have studied at least 24 units of credit of Level 3 Physics subjects, including PHYS3011 Quantum Mechanics and Electrodynamics; PHYS3021 Statistical and Solid State Physics; PHYS3031 Advanced Optics and Nuclear Physics.

For further information on Physics Honours requirements and application processes, students should consult the School of Physics as early as possible.

Plan Structure

Enrolment in 48 units of credit taken as 24 UOC in two consecutive semesters over a 1 year period (or part-time equivalent).
