Description

Student Learning in Higher Education considers the nature of student learning, the factors that impact on the way students approach their learning tasks, and the learning arrangements that support effective student learning in higher education settings. Student learning is considered from a number of different frameworks and research orientations, including adult learning, student approaches to learning, learning from experience, and reflective practice. In addition to considering accounts of student learning in the relevant literatures, students in this course investigate aspects of student learning in the courses that they teach using one or more of the frameworks considered. This course builds on the brief introductions to student learning presented in the course Introduction to University Learning and Teaching and together these courses form the core components of the Graduate Certificate of University Learning and Teaching. The face to face component of the course is two one day workshops.
