Description

Competition Law is an undergraduate elective course carrying 6 units of credit with three contact hours per week. This course is an introduction to competition law. It examines Part IV of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010(CCA) (formerly the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth), and the parallel state provisions of the Competition Code. The course does not address all provisions of the CCA, particularly the Australian Consumer Law. Through case analysis it develops the essential economic methodologies for applying the CCA to commercial conduct. A knowledge of commerce or economics is not essential for this course.
